Overview

CarePrices (operated by Care Decision Labs) provides a free tool for comparing healthcare procedure prices across providers. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and who we share it with.

We keep it simple: we don't sell your data, we don't require you to create an account, and we don't collect anything beyond what's needed to operate and improve the service.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information automatically when you visit:

• Usage analytics — page views, general traffic patterns, and visitor counts via our analytics beacon. This data is aggregated and anonymized (no personally identifiable information).
• Anonymous visitor ID — a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's localStorage to distinguish unique visits. It contains no personal information and is never linked to your identity.
• Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamp. These are retained briefly for security and debugging purposes.

If you use the Contact Us form on this site, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit so we can respond to your inquiry.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate and improve the CarePrices service
• To understand how people use the site (which procedures are searched, general traffic trends)
• To respond to messages submitted via the Contact form
• To maintain security and diagnose technical issues

We do not use your information for targeted advertising on our own behalf. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

Cookies

CarePrices uses cookies and similar technologies in two ways:

• First-party storage — we store an anonymous visitor ID in localStorage (not a cookie) to count unique visits. No personal data.

CarePrices integrates with the following third-party services:

These services have their own privacy policies and data practices. We are not responsible for how they process data collected through their own systems.

Data Retention

Aggregated analytics data is retained indefinitely to track long-term usage trends. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, then deleted. Server logs are typically purged within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

CarePrices is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
